I came to making kusudama origami through equal parts curiosity and boredom—and quickly fell in love with the rhythm and creativity of the process. My pieces are anything but traditional: I use recycled materials like old books, maps, and buttons, and add bold, hand-airbrushed color to make each one unique. Every structure is a blend of play and purpose.
I love experimenting with origami for all kinds of creative end goals—wedding bouquets and boutonnieres, crane mobiles, roller derby awards, and whatever else the paper journey brings. Each project is a playful challenge, and I’m always up for a new one. My only real goal? That the final piece makes someone smile.
