I believe local stories are at the heart of strong communities—and nonprofits are often where those stories begin. Writing press releases, media pitches, and storytelling pieces that highlight the real people behind a mission is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. It’s about more than coverage—it’s about connection, credibility, and helping communities see the impact happening right next door.
The daily news can be heavy—important, but overwhelming. That’s why I’ve always had a soft spot for the so-called “fluff” stories. Done right, they’re not inane or throwaway—they’re human. They offer balance, lightness, and connection when we need it most. Fluff hits different. It reminds us what’s still good, still funny, still worth celebrating.
Stigma thrives in silence—and sharing our stories is one of the most powerful ways to push back. I bring a unique mix of deep lived experience, storytelling skill, and the courage to speak honestly about hard things. Writing personal narrative isn’t just cathartic—it’s a way to create connection, challenge stigma, and invite others to find strength in their own voices.
